Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Cobra Kai Netflix Cobra Kai season 5 has arrived on Netflix , the one show that A) keeps getting renewed without fail after every season and B) always arrives in a pretty timely fashion without any big delays. But finally C) almost always reviews very, very well, unlike a lot of other Netflix top hits as of late. Cobra Kai has clocked in 100%, 90%, 90% and 95% critics scores for the first four seasons, and now season 5 has arrived with another 100% score , based on the reviews that are in so far.
100% from fans too, but that’s based on a tiny amount of reviews, given that it just arrived a few hours ago. It’s almost the perfect Netflix show, one with a low budget that both critics and fans love and a seemingly endless fountain ideas of how to continue the story as characters shuffle between dojos and compete in yearly karate tournaments. It has to be the cheapest “megahit” Netflix has, though I do hope the cast has gotten significant raises over the years, given how successful it’s been.
This is a much-needed with for Netflix which has continually kept having shows hit #1 on its top 10 list that have been frankly, pretty terrible. Among the last couple, we have: Devil in Ohio – 56% critic score, 25% audience score Echoes – 25% critic score, 44% audience score Resident Evil – 55% critic score, 26% audience score Resident Evil Netflix MORE FOR YOU ‘Demon Slayer’ Season 2 Finally Has An Actual 2021 Release Date Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Not A Sure Thing, Says Director ‘Genshin Impact’ Still Refuses To Increase Anniversary Rewards, Despite Fan Outcry The last real “winner” atop the list was The Sandman with an 87% critic score and 81% audience score, but despite it doing so well, the extremely high cost of the show has meant it has not yet been renewed for season 2, and may never be, if Netflix decides its metrics don’t warrant a pick-up. Cobra Kai, however, is in the rare Netflix category of shows that never have to fear renewal, and so far, Netflix doesn’t have to worry about it putting out a stinker of a season, which has not happened yet.
Allegedly, despite not even officially being renewed, some scenes have already been shot for season 6, so it’s just kind of assumed it will continue on indefinitely until they run out of ideas. And they haven’t yet. How many more Karate Kid movie sub-characters can we reintroduce? We have to be running low at this point.
But maybe not. The show has been a star-maker, allowing Xolo Mariduena to nab the role of Blue Beetle for DC, and has elevated Peyton List to become a bonafide Gen Z superstar online. Season 5 looks to be another high quality offering from the team, and it’s not a matter of if it hits number one on Netflix, but when, and for how long it will stay there.
