Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Intel has revealed a yet unknown 13th Gen processor will likely be the one to break the 6GHz barrier.
In other words, there’s likely a Core i9-13900KS waiting in the wings that hasn’t yet appeared on any leaked charts. Intel’s first 6GHz CPU will likely be a Core i9-13900KS Antony Leather I spoke to Intel’s Mandy Mock – vice president and GM of desktop and workstation at the company for a separate article that will be published soon, discussing the company’s 13th Gen CPUs and expansion plans – who stated the 6GHz figure announced in official slides at the company’s Tech Tour event in Israel this week was correct. However, given that none of the CPUs we’ve seen in leaked slides so far hit 6GHz, this suggests that incredible number is coming from a yet unknown CPU that sits above the likely Core i5-13600K, 13700K and 13900K, which are all but confirmed so far.
Indeed, when asked about this, but not referring to any specific models, Mandy stated that ‘there might be something following up’ the expected announcement of these CPUs later this month. IgorsLAB revealed specifications for Intel’s 13th Gen CPUs IgorsLAB The Core i9-13900K is rumored to have a peak boost frequency of 5. 8GHz according to the slide below, which was published by IgorsLAB this week .
That is 200MHz short of the 6GHz figure stated in Corporate Vice President, Isic Silas’ presentation this week. A Core i9-13900KS sitting 200MHz above the peak boost frequency of the Core i9-13900K would be logical and ‘KS’ models have often aimed for nice round numbers such as all-core boosts of 5GHz with the Corei9-9900KS or sitting in the middle with 5. 5GHz with the Core i9-12900KS. Either way, given how impressive Intel’s 12th Gen CPUs are, it’s exciting that Intel has found noticeably more frequency with its 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs.
