Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Fortnite Epic We are a week or so away from the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3, season 4, and while we’ve known some thing about it, like how Gwen Stacy will be in the battle pass, we finally have a look, at the overall theme of the season, thanks in part to Epic, thanks in part to some leaks. I am a little confused about this tweet, which exists by itself, but I cannot actually see it on Fortnite’s timeline . But it shows a commercial in which cereal is affected by some sort of new chrome plague: There are a couple of these, this one was spotted on TikTok, and someone thought it might have gone live early: The attached season name is PARADISE, which is vaguely unsettling considering that it’s connected to…a spreading plague of chrome.

This aligns with the past image we got of Paradigm’s hand reaching out of a pool of chrome. The captions for these are similarly weird: MORE FOR YOU ‘Demon Slayer’ Season 2 Finally Has An Actual 2021 Release Date Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Not A Sure Thing, Says Director ‘Genshin Impact’ Still Refuses To Increase Anniversary Rewards, Despite Fan Outcry It consumes everything. Chrome will consume all, Chrome will be all.

Consume everything. Something “infecting” the map is certainly not a new concept for Fortnite, whether that’s snow that ends up covering the entire thing, or more recently, alien wildlife spreading, but I guess…chrome is a new one. Presumably you would think that objects that would be coated in chrome would be unable to be destroyed.

I would also predict some sort of item that could be used to make your character have Metal Mario-like armor for a time. But yeah, in the grand scheme of Fortnite storylines, a liquid chrome plague is certainly one of the weirder ones we’ve come across. With a week to go, I expect more teasers to roll out over the course of the week, though I doubt we will get full details on what the chrome means until the season is life.

As of now, we do not have any sort of day or time for a live event that leads into the next season, but I’d be surprised if there was nothing , as that’s not usually the Fortnite way. Though the events have been less on-map developments and more scripted mission sequences lately, so we’ll see what, if anything, they have planned this time. So yeah, weird chrome season ahead, I guess.
