It’s time for the last Heardle game of the regular work week.

Here’s hoping it’s an easy one for you (spoiler: it was not a simple one for me). If it’s proving difficult, though, I have some clues that might help. Failing that, I’ve got the answer coming up for you.

I assume this isn’t your first rodeo with Heardle but, if you are a newcomer, here’s how to play: You will hear the first second of a reasonably well-known song. You’ll then try to guess the artist and title or skip your turn. If you skip or guess incorrectly, you’ll get to hear a little more of the song.

The game continues until the sixth and final guess, at which point you’ll hear 16 seconds of the track. It may be the case that you haven’t played for a few days. If so, here are some of the songs you may have missed: Saturday, August 6: “Sympathy for the Devil” by the Rolling Stones Sunday, August 7: “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye (feat.

Kimbra) Monday, August 8: “Riptide” by Vance Joy Tuesday, August 9: “Misery Business” by Paramore Wednesday, August 10: “Basket Case” by Green Day Thursday, August 11: “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton If you identified today’s Heardle song right away, that’s wonderful! Otherwise, here are some clues, followed by the answer: Heardle Clues For August 12 This song is in the pop rock genre. It was released in 2013. It reached number 80 on the U.

S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 19 on the U. K.

singles chart. The song, apparently, is about someone fleeing the police in their car while in possession of cannabis. This is your last chance to look away before I reveal the answer to today’s Heardle .

The song you are trying to find is. . .

Heardle answer for August 12 Heardle “Chocolate” by The 1975! I am very confident I have never heard this song before. I don’t care to ever hear it again. The lyrics are unintelligible and the backing track is the definition of dull.

Although I was familiar with the name of the band, I’d never listened to any of their music until now. Here’s hoping their other songs are better, but that wouldn’t take much. You can listen to “Chocolate” in full below, if you dare: Boy, the last couple of Heardle songs have been stinkers.

Here’s hoping tomorrow brings us a much better song. I’ll have clues and the answer for Saturday’s game on my blog when it’s available. Follow me on Twitter or LinkedIn .
