“Most of recorded history has one big data gap, with women missing,” said Sapna Chadha, vice-president of marketing at Google India & Southeast Asia. Innovations in visual and voice search were also a highly-discussed theme at the event, with Liz Reid, VP of Google Search , saying India was at the forefront of global visual and voice search adoption. Reid also announced the launch of new features in Google Search that would let users search within videos.
“High-quality search results to be available in local languages along with English in Google Search. Voice search can now understand people who speak Hinglish,” said Puneet Kumar, general manager of search at Google India.
